I have a Bosch Classic Electronic SGS55E42Au/86. The machine fills and then pumps out for a second on overfill. The water in the machine is cold at this stage.

My problem is that I can’t find a sensor that tells the controller that the machine is full and ready to progress through the cycle.I have removed what looks like a temperature sensor (TYP956 5600049491) which has 4 terminals. The first two have continuity and the rest are open circuit measured with a multimeter. I understand that from a previous forum post that this is a temperature sensor as well as a thermistor. I have tried immersing it in boiling water and it does not change state.

Would you mind advising if I am looking in the right direction?

    This machine is in Australia

    Thanks regards

The water metering device inside the machine is at fault. Bosch call it an ‘Impellor Jug’ and its replacement part number is 424099.

Stick one of those in cobber and she’s a gud’un!

    G’day to you!

Thanks so much Martin, it all makes perfect sense now. It also means I can see if I can get the machine back together before I order the part? I would guess this means the sensor is ok?

Would you know the best place to get this from? 😀
