    Hi there,

I wonder if anyone can help please.

Over the last few weeks my dishwasher has become increasingly difficult to start a cycle to the extent that it now won’t start. I have counted the number of flashes and it repeats on 11.

Can anyone advise what this means and what the remedial action is.

Thanks very much for any help that can be offered.

Its supposed to be an Optical Water Indicator fault.

Unfortunately this error code often pops up on machines that don’t even have an OWI.

Do a search of this forum for OWI and you will get an idea of the problem.

NB. A manufacturers name is often a big help, putting Whirlpool in your header may have attracted a better response. 😉

    Hi Iadom

Thanks for the response, I’ll get the toothbrush out and see if that clears the problem. If not, as Arnie says “I’ll be back”

Thanks for the Hint on the title

    Cheers

    Hi there

I have cleaned to black filter matrix with a toothbrush and poured hot water into the sump to help clear any greasy residue and the sump seems to clear, but when the fill up cycle begins I still get the 11 flashes and accompanying beeps. Does this mean that the microswitch on the diaphragm is broken and if so what part do I need and where could I get it from please.

    Cheers
