The problem I have is the error code shown is AL 08 I have looked it up and it has to do with heater problem can someone please help and advise how to repair thank you

Hi James,
You’re going to have to dig a bit deeper and test the heater to see if it is open circuit to begin with I’m afraid.
Error codes are not a magic bullet, they give you an idea of the nature of the problem but, importantly, they do not identify specific failed components. To do that it’s out with a test meter and a bit of hard work I’m afraid.
Could be the heater (prime suspect) but also it could be the wiring or thermostats.

Full model number would help. 😉
Chances are that it is an Indesit made appliance, not only is the heater a common source of failure on Indesit machines but the control module is also known to fail quite often. 😥

Full serial number required from the rating plate stuck to the inside edge of the door.
Major changes to the modules on these, later ones fitted in the base have to be programmed with a smart card and card reader. Earlier models have the main pcb behind the facia, both prone to no heat faults.
You need to test the heater first, if that is OK then as long as there are no breaks in the wiring harness inside the door it’s odds on the module has failed. 😥
