ParticipantShould I be concerned? Don’t know why the kitchen fitter did this? The gas pipe is for the double oven next the dishwasher.

Wow, theres a lot going on under there, i would be horrified if my fitter did a job like that. Might not break any code but could have been done a whole lot better and normally when you do it better it tends to be safer.

It took me a long pause on how to remove the dishwasher.
The pipe was very rigid and the leg did not push it which was kind of a relief but I was not very happy with the workmanship. It puts me in a compromising position. I am not a gas fitter but I can see it was badly designed and ill thought which could have been done better.
Putting the dishwasher back is another matter. Don’t know how they did it in the first place (bruce force springs to mind).

Looking at it i think i would make a platform for it to sit on, the legs are for levelling and should not be wound down that far anyway, 2 pieces of worktop with the top one longer and it will go over the gas pipe, the cables just need sorting then!

Are you sure its a gas pipe, I cannot see any PVC tape or other protective pipe.
If its laid above the base concrete covered in screed it should have double thickness PVC around the pipe, usually some is visible as the pipe comes out.
If its laid in solid floor it has to be placed through plastic tube or preformed duct.
I’d be more concerned with that, the leg is not going to exert enough force in that position to damage it.

yes lee8, it is gas pipe as I traced it to the oven. It’s copper pipe with soldered on elbow joint. The floor is wooden.

Is that an Australian superhero one can call on to shift stubborn integrated appliances? 😉Must admit I would be concerned by that foot pushing the gas pipe too, but then I’m totally paranoid when it comes to gas.
It probablywont cause any issues whatsoever but whos to say several years of slamming the dishwashers door and baskets wont jiggle the pipe a bit?
I would prefer to see it raised on a decent bit of wood I must say. 😯
