I see this question has been asked before; but it doesn’t seem to have received any positive answers apart from one recommending a machine by ISE which sadly has ceased trading. All the other replies go back some years so I’m hoping things may have moved on.
I’m looking for a freestanding dishwasher (standard height and ideally width) but don’t have room for the standard 59/60cm depth – I measured a couple which were 60cm deep in a local store and with the doors fully open. the length from front to back was 118/118.5cm. We only have 114cm from the wall to the unit opposite; so, assuming it would need at least a couple of centimetres of space behind for the pipes or whatever, by my calculations we need a dishwasher with a depth of no more than 54cm.
Does any such machine exist? I’m aware that built-in units are less deep but it seems, from looking at previous replies, that they would still be too deep once the door was attached.
Or – wild thought – are there any dishwashers which open differently, so they don’t need so much space in front?
Thanks very much.
