KeymasterGreetings,
I hope someone out there can help me with a dishwasher I acquired in a recent housemove……..
It’s a Whirlpool diplomat (fitted into the kitchen), but I don’t know the model number….Anyway, We had three weeks of nice clean dishes, then it started ‘bleeping’ and the green LED always stoppled on the rinse symbol. OK, so I filled the rinse agent, and it kept on bleeping, then the I noticed the bottom of the dishwasher was full of water….So, I unblocked the outlet pipe (that had been crushed against the wall), and it now gets about half way through the cycle and bleeps at me (green LED still on the rinse symbol). I’m at my witts end…..Anyone have any ideas of what could be wrong?.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Paul.

Paul,
The Make and Model number are very much required before we can help I’m afraid. There are hundreds of differing types, all have their individual problems 🙁
Check door, door surround, any user paperwork etc for that vital snippet of info 🙂

hi,
Look down the right hand side edge of the door frame and there should be a label. Please supply the number which begins 85********** and we can have a go at helping you. Its important you supply the 85 number as production changes occur faster than you can say pizza.

Hi All,
OK, thanks for the advice….I now have the model number…It’s an ADP8322
Last night, I tried running it again ona a different setting….Same thing happened…..It started beeping half way through the cycle, I pressed the start button which stopped the beeping and it carried on, but when it had finished, it stopped on the rinse symbol(normally goes back to the program selection symbol), and all the dishes were wet.
Any help / advice very much appreciated.
Thanks.
Paul.

When it stops and bleeps, before pressing the start button to reset, see how many/which lights are on and if any are flashing or staying on.
The lights will indicate a fault code which may help, but in general they are only a guidline.

Without trying to answer my own question…..I noticed on another thread, that a similar problem was diagnosed as a NTC which I assume stands for ~~~~~~~~ Temperature controller (what does the N stand for)…..
Are these simple to replace?. I don’t mind getting my hands dirty 😉Cheers.

It stands for negative temperature coefficient, it’s a thermistor.
I would advise against changing parts on the off-chance though, you could well end up spending money unnecessarily.
If you’re unsure, call an engineer and save yourself a lot of time, money and frustration 😉

hi,
an NTC failure is usually immediate, not 1/2 way through a cycle, there are also two varients depending on 85 number. Not easy this one and one where a SAM module can identify the last fault stored in the PCB. The PCB once reset may function but a base full of water makes me steer to the incoming water metering device. It (the PCB) electronically counts magnetic pulses from the filling chamber and have caused problems even when brand new.Best bet, an 85 number and I can confirm whats fitted and my advice would probably be’ its not a diy repair.

Greetings……
OK, the 85 number is 84500015810Also, it no longer has water in the bottom when finished……All that is happening now is that it bleeps a few mins (maybe 10 / 15 mins), and when it’s done, the dishes are still wet, and there is no heat in the dishwasher.
Many, many thanks for your help.

hi,
Worst case senario is the fascia mounted user board at £102 ish. The element is bog standard and although they do fail @ £54.00 they aint cheap.
options as its not a diy this one.
http://www.flyingtoolbox.com and buy on line an insurance for 12 months which will cover this breakdown, offset the cost of quoted parts and a labour charge to gauge the cost of the insurance, also remember its 12 months cover.
08706008989 whirlpool themselves @ £72.50 inc vat for the labour plus parts.
or one of our members using the directories if any in your area.
The ability to dianose the electronics is the key to a successful repair here and without a sam module its a substitution game.
regards
kevin.
