Reading these posts this must be a recurring problem.
I have a BOSCH Slimline Dishwasher type SRS43EO2GB/13, and it has stopped draining and seems to have a full load of water after a wash. The wash cycle seems to be OK (makes the appropriate noises!) but the initial drain cycle at the start of the wash cycle does not work. The drain pump motor “hums” but does not turn and nothing goes into the drain (you can hear it when it works). Unfortunately I cannot find a way to get to the wonderful panels etc as you mention for other models. I had a Bosch trained engineer look at it and he decided that he could not reach the pump to remove it but he managed to hit it with a screwdriver and after a while it worked but only for about three cycles then it appeared to stick again. I am now trying to get into the area myself to clear the pump (or even replace it).
My background is engineering but this is not an easy unit to get into ……any help advice please?Re: Dishwasher not draining …AGAIN!

“Bosch trained” eh? 😈
I don’t think so otherwise he would have removed the outer door panel, the plastic front panel and metal inspection panel behind that in order to have full and free access to the drain pump.
Slimline dishwashers aren’t the easiest to access at the best of times but having manufacturers training to know exactly where to thump it with a screwdriver is not the way forward. 😛

Martin, thanks for the advice re ‘the way in’ …I will try today. My ‘Man’ has been very good in the past but didn’t have much good to say about the ‘maintenance design’ of this dishwasher style!!!

I have removed all of the panels as suggested and can now see and get to the pump, but it will not come out …what is the trick? It seems to be on a ‘floating mount’and I cannot get enough purchase to move the housing to get it out. I assume that I have to remove it to clear any jams. Any further clues please?

The pump motor unit fits onto the pump chamber as a ‘bayonet’ type fitting. So you simply need to release the locking tab on the side, then rotate the pump (clockwise I think?) about 20 degrees in order the two halves be seperated*. DO NOT FORCE OR STRAIN AGAINST THE BLACK RUBBER SEAL by the way. 😉
* Your Bosch mate will know the trick anyway. :clown:

Got in OK but suggest the word “simply” is a misnomer …my hands don’t bend that way!! Also I cannot get enough purchase to both release the tab and turn the motor housing …its stuck! Still trying!

After several days of trying to get the drain motor off, I reverted to another fix I found on-line …a mixture of baking soda (in a paste) followed immediately by an equal measure of vinegar (causes a massive foam-up) then a kettle of very hot water …..switched on and …..WOW it worked. Now done four successful washes and fingers very cramped by being tightly crossed for so long…….
Hope that’s me for another long time …and thanks for the assistance.
