I am looking at a Candy CDI 1012/4-80 which, when put onto any program, goes through a cycle of about 20 seconds water fill, followed immediately by about 20 seconds of drain pump action, then back to water fill for 20… repeat about 5 times before beeping (error). Drain pump has no problem clearing water, and in 20 seconds of water fill the sump does fill with water.

The water flow seems to be controlled by the matrix “paddle wheel” and the pressure swith (pvc tube to the sump, micro switch on the end). Disconnecting the paddle wheel makes no difference so that isn’t doing anything that could affect the error condition within 20 seconds. When I disconnect the pressure switch the base of the dishwasher fills – then over fills to leaking. When I blow down the pvc tube to the pressure switch the microswitch is heard and only a very light amount of breath pressure seems needed to activate the switch. I’ve blown into these tubes before and it has always seemed to need more pressure than this one I’m testing.

So I reckon I’ll replace the pressure switch. Is there anything I might have missed?

You’ll need the first part of the serial number to get anything on it as that model isn’t being recognised on their system.

the matrix paddle wheel as you put it counts the water in. if this goes faulty you would get similar things going on

the wheel operates a reed switch that open an closes as a magnet passes

check all connections and wires. would not be the first one i’ve had with bad connection or mice eaten cables

Hi, I checked my logs and see there was an email deleted by my spam software and I can no longer access it. Would you please send it to me again? Many thanks, Mark

The machine give error E15 (Ef) (15 sequences of flashing lights) which corresponds to

At the end of a water load, the Pressostat correctly trips to the “full tank” contact, but the Liters Counter has counted less than 20
    impulses (for 3 times).”

I’m finding this hard to accept because it only tries to fill for 20 seconds before going back into drain cycle. Is it possible to encounter a pressure stat in which the diaphragm (if they even have diaphragms) weakens and trips early, ie, is over sensitive? I think I’m going to have to replace the water counter and the pressure sensor next time I visit because I’m tired of pulling that machine out from behind the kick boards lol.

Just a final update to this thread. It was indeed the “litres counter” – I replace the whole pressure chamber.
