My Ikea not very good dishwasher has had a wash pump failure and the part is no longer available… so I’m looking to make a purchase!

Maybe I’m after the impossible, but my requirements are:
    – A dishwasher that will last a long time and hence well made with quality parts
    – When it comes to fixing it I can do it
    – Parts are not stupidly priced.

I basically hate to throw things away and will always fix them!

There are some really good articles on this site such as this: http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/buyi … ying-guide

For a moment I thought that a Miele dishwasher would be a good purchase for example the G4940SC, however I looked at a replacement wash pump as an example and was shocked that the part was a little under £400 and clearly priced to discourage you fixing it!

I hope I’m not seeking the impossible in this throw-away age! Maybe you professional repairers have a view on this?

    Thanks

Miele? Great choice. The wash pump failing? Very unlikely. Buy it, read and abide by the user instructions. Always put salt in the softener and you’ll have a dishwasher that’ll last for years and years 😀
