so i removed the upper spray arm to give it a clean, its simply unscrews off and screws back on, however after refitting its now hitting the dishes in the lower tray, only the spray arm was removed nothing else and it is correctly reattached so i have no idea why it is now hitting the plates, any ideas?

Here’s an idea, how about giving us a make and model first. 😉

Of course you may have slotted the upper basket back into a lower channel or set of wheels.

Pull the whole top basket out and put it onto the top runners…….simples!

The dual height option on the top basket allows it to raise to enable wider dinner plates to be washed at the expense of not being able to wash tall glasses at the same time. One has to compromise you see. 😉 one or the other but not BOTH! 😀

    Hi

If you have not altered the baskets, it must be that the top spray arm has never been rotating all that time. Going by the pictures its impossible for the arm to pass the plates with the top basket in that position.

I’ve no wish to argue otherwise but it is clear from those photos of yours you need to raise the top basket onto those high runners in order the plates are washed. (See page 19 of your user instruction booklet) :rtm:

What I do know is that I cannot wash wide plates and tall stemmed glasses together in my Bosch dishwasher. And (until today that is) have never ever come across a brand of domestic dishwasher that will do both simultaneously.

hi, the top arm seems to work ok as everything in the top is spotless (looked like a grain of rice in 1 of the holes so i took it out to remove it, bad idea), but neither myself nor my wife have ever moved the tray and had the big plates in the bottom and tall glasses in the top nearly every wash since we got it, i know u guys think im mistaken or dont know what im talking about but i confirmed it with the misses we had both in at the same time. 😕

In that case the top spray arm has NEVER rotated with tall plates jamming it all the while. And the only reason the top basket crockery has cleaned is from the combined flow of both the rotating bottom spray arm and the static top spray arm.

At least now you know and I’m pleased we were able to advise. 😀
