    Hey guys

looking for some advice concerning my kenwood dishwasher. When I start a cleaning cycle within 5-10 minutes it’ll trip the electrics but then if I turn it back on and start the cycle again it works fine. Then the next day if I use the dishwasher it happens again.

what could be causing this ?

Heater. But you’d need to be able to test it for earth leakage.

I only changed the heater element a few weeks ago. Why would it trip within the first 5-10 minutes when the waters still cold at that time ?

It could be other things, that’s just where I’d start given the description as it won’t start heating till it fills etc.

As a rough guide, whatever it’s trying to energise at the point it trips is the most likely suspect.

I have a Neff Dishwasher that has suddenly started tripping the RCD when power is switched on. It’s been working well for 8 years. I am doing some kitchen changes and disconnected the dishwasher. When I reconnect it trips the RCD. I know it’s the dishwasher as have connected it using extension leads to other circuits. Any thoughts? Cheers

well the first thing I would check is always the heater

you can take off the panel below the door and remove the large connector from the motor.
then try to see if it trip

if yes, well its something else
if no then you need a new motor

also check if any water has got into the base where the motor is a water can cause tripping
