    Whirlpool adp 4501/5.

When switch on it makes noises as if draining, then sounds as if taking water from cold feed. But then stops with grren light flashing – eleven times then repeats. Cannot find error code for this. Tried switching off at mains and on machine and restaring – no go. Also checked drain pipe clear and water feed pipe clear. Any ideas? Thanks

I believe it denotes an OWI fault (Optical Water Indicator). Which in English means the water flow sensor detects an error in flow rates OR the base-plate of the machine has flooded?

I think it’s a turbidity sensor in the base Martin next to the heater.

Yes ‘water flow sensor’, ‘optical water indicator’ or ‘turbidity sensor’ or some such is the likely problem here. 😀

OK – thanks both. Is this a case of replacing the OWI …. and how complicated is this? Also how do I check if the base plate is flooded …. there doesn’t seem to be any surplus water at the bottom of the dishwasher (under the metal plate at the bottom).

    Thanks
