just a general one about dishwashers, i was at one yesterday and thought i got it working as it was back feeding water from a dodgy waste under the sink and was full of fairy liquid from all the back feed, so ran 3 or 4 rinse cycles in front of the customer but now ive just had her on saying its stopped mid cycle and the water is lying in it, can any on help???

    check it heats.
check there is nothing obstructing the drain pump.
    check for blockage.

First of all being as you are a newcomer…..welcome. 😀

Not sure how long you have slaved in this our trade but it would be more pertinent to be a little more specific? A “general” question on dishwashers doesn’t always hold fast as many makes vary in their flood control systems etc etc.

So please can I ask that you give make and model and more exacting detail as to your immediate problem….thank you. 🙂

It’s highly possible that if it doesn’t heat then it cannot move onto its next stage in the cycle which would be drain then fresh water to rinse?

The only way to find these kind of faults is stripping down and testing.

    Crow,
If you thought you had it fixed did you not give a receipt with all the details of the appliance and safety checks as this would provide you with details of repairs should you have a call back like you have?
A good idea is to also have a record card system or database on the PC so you have a finger tip record. I’m a bit ancient and prefer record cards and customers are amazed when I can say “I was last there on 15th Jan 2005 and changed you pump”
Any pointers needed always ask on here, it’s a real asset.
Good luck in your new venture.
    Rob
