Hello – I have a Bosch SGS4012GB dishwasher which has started to leave food residue and white streaks over the dishes. All the arms are clear, and spinning freely with no blockages. The outlet pipe is clear, but the machine seems to be rinsing with dirty water – please can anyne help me here – (I am prettty competent to take the thing to bits if necessary – just need a little advice on what to look for and where)
    Many thanks, Mike

    Re: dishwater problems

If it’s rinsing in dirty water then it’s not draining or only partially draining, either a blockage or the pump is failing..

Power off before attempting any repairs please :plug:

    Re: dishwater problems (Bosch)

Thanks – I’ve checked by filing with added water and it doesn’t seem to be pumping out at alll – how do I get to the pump to check it? The impeller seems to be ok and I have taken out acnd checked the non-return valve.

If you’ve checked the impellor and the non-return valve you must’ve removed the pump ??

Sorry, I can’t go in to specifics on how to repair, but it does sound like the pump to me, as long as there are no blockages, it can’t be much else really.

Added to the shop@ should you require one:

Whenever you select a programme on this machine, the first thing it does is PUMP.

Now to confirm the pump is working after you have removed the pump cover and the impellor turns quite freely by hand. Is simply shut the door, start the machine and open the door quickly the moment it starts up. You should not only hear the pump as you do so, but actually see the impellor spinning for a split second, thus confirming the pump is OK

I have attended repairs to over 40 of this very model and have never ever needed to replace the pump on one (yet 🙄 )

Haven’t you ? Surprising as we sell loads and have fitted quite a few as well 😕
