We want to get rid of our very old ( 20 year old !!) Matsui microwave. Nothing wrong with it. Apart from being a bit heavy, it is still in good working order. We updated a year ago to a Panasonic.
Would a recycling place be interested in it or would it be too much hassle for them to check the microwave for it to be useful to them? Should we take it to a tip or elsewhere?

Seeing where you are, Tony Murray at Create may be a good choice.

Hi Gegsy. I’m familiar with Create. If you ring the local council they will take things away and pass onto Create if salvageable. I just wondered because of the microwave radiation.

Radiation will be fine, in as much to say; appliance not powered up, therefore no chance of radiation risk. Possible high voltage charge left in appliance even when not plugged in for weeks still the only main danger TBH.

I could load it into the car then and take it to Create. No probs. Thanks for your advice once again !!
