KeymasterI have one little proposal but which implied lot of work from moderator/ admin point of view. That’s inside “Trade Technical Enquiries” part where I begin to see that lot of same questions arise and reason for that is: either same problem was discuss too long time ago or people did not even searched for.
So my proposal is: like all things from our computers are divided in folders and subfolders depending of information or utility so we should divide this “channel” in much more… in order to find more easily what we look for.
So first dividing should be done from manufactures group (ex. one is Electrolux/Zanussi/TricityBendix/Rex/Aeg/Privileg…) point of view and after that from type of electronic use (EWM2000/2000EVO/1000/1000plus/3000…/EDR…) because involved people from this industry (service) should know these things.
Not at least in every last divisions (because all are governed by the same rules/programs) should be available information (sticky posts): about test regime, faults codes table, problem solutions founded for each type of error and other problems… In this manner people will survive any other posts related to his problem before sending again same “problem”…Ex.: I have received one machine “privileg___”. From board design and type of electronic I will understand how I get inside service regime, reading faults code and after that I will be able: to put my question on the right division and to find more quickly answers to my problem if was already treated…
In same direction should be done something with adding directly pictures and information to our post without any other software or someone to intermediate…
I will be interested in your opinion… and if it’s usefull all to know much more about our work and to have more sistematic point of view…

You are correct Baron, it would be extremely time consuming to do this.
I have already looked into it TBH and we’ll probably try sub-boards at some stage to see if they work, but it won’t be in the next couple of weeks. 😉
It is pretty simple for me though, to do stuff like this has a cost attached, so long as I can cover the cost of it, then I don’t have an issue with giving anything a whirl. You can do anything you like, develop whatever you want, but there’s always a cost. That said there’s more than one way to skin a cat.

On this subject it occurred to me that when I search the forums I sometimes get a lot of hits and it’s time consuming to read them all. Sooo… could we ask everyone who’s opening a new query to give a standardised form to their title (which is what comes up in results). So the standardised title could be something like: 1.Make2.Type(wm/dw/td/ff.etc)3.Model full number.4.(very important)NATURE OF FAULT.
Thus I might do a search for a model no. and go straight into the RELEVANT threads, without needing to read through threads entitled e.g.”Beko problem” just to find out whether or not it applies.
All that’s needed to achieve this is to put a big sticky notice at the top of the Trade Technical Enquiries forum.
