I have been forwarded your email and attached letter by one of my colleagues.

As set out in your letter, regulation 17(3) states that information should be made available to anyone carrying out treatment activities. The regulations contain a definition of ‘treatment’ and, to summarise, it is activity relating to WEEE. I note from your communications that you are working on EEE; meaning that regulation 17 does not therefore apply. Accordingly, we will not be providing you with the items you have requested.

    Kind regards

TBH I was astonished at that response. Flabbergasted.

It’s basically f*** off using polite language.

Oh well, it’s up to the OFT and Defra to take it up beyond this point but at least we all know where we stand and how much respect that some people have for us.

    K.
