ParticipantGetting regular callbacks (inside 12 months) for Fan Oven Elements when using pattern spares.
Even had one that had shorted the other day rather than just failing. It took out the electronic timer with it..
Has anyone found a particular brand/spares supplier of decent quaity long lasting elements?
I think the particular elements my regular supplier sells me are possibly sourced from qualtex but not sure on that one.

I now insulation test all elements on receipt. It’s remarkable how some are around the 1.5 to 4 Mohm range. Others are at infinity – not sure what top end is on my meter but often get readings near 200M. Must find instruction book.
Have had quite a few elements from lmelectrical (ebay seller) in Somerset over past couple of years. They were always high on insulation test and invariably arrive next day – it’s as though they have some influence at Royal Mail! And on top of that they’re cheaper than most wholesalers on common stuff.

I can and will do that on my suppliers own counter, can see his face now as I choose the cream of his crop!

Ah, those were the days. Nipping in for a brew and a moan 😥
Do all my moaning on here now but the brews aren’t as good…….I have to make them myself 😉 .TC

Excellent idea testing them DOH never thought of that. Just one other thing…..I collect all the bags of silica gel that come with lots of things and throw them in the bottom of my element box on the van 😉

Think the silica gel would only work if you keep it in an airtight (or as near as) box. And don’t open it!
