ParticipantHello! 😀
I wonder if you can help! My 2yr old Servis frost free fridge freezer decided to start doing strange things the week before Xmas (just what I needed-NOT! 🙁 )It basically is struggling to keep the fridge and freezer cool but also has the warning light flashing and there is a clicking (as if the door is being opened and closed or being switched off and on) which is rythmic. The green on/off light flashes too and when the fan(?) comes on to cool the freezer the green light fades as if drawing power. When the fan isnt on and I open the fridge door, the interior light goes on and off and the clicking happens again grrrr. its like the powers going on and off all the time so never actually gets cool enough ?I had the circuit board out and fiddled with it 😳 checked for loose bits and pushed at wiring and it decided to work fine for a few days then went back to its old tricks 👿 I did notice there was a ‘track’ in the casing where wiring had got hot but nothing else. Do you think I might need a new module and if so, any idea how much they are? Or do I need an exorcist instead?! 😈 Or just a sledgehammer maybe ??? Thanks alot !

Many of these ice up the evaporator due to the heaters being insufficent for the purpose and the drain hole rubber sticking together.and not allowing it to drain. this is above the compressor. I blast the evaporator with a hairdrier which gets it going for another few months ’till it happens again. POWER OFF then six screws holding the back cover then the hairdrier. If this doesn’t cure it then more than likely the module.

Thank you Rob I will try the hairdryer trick. It has been switched off since Ive had this problem twice and for several days at a time and it did fill the plastic tray above the gas thing with water and also tiny polystyrene balls 😕 When we switched it back on it still clicked and flashed but then stopped and worked fine before going wrong again! I could understand it if it just went wrong but to start working again after about 5 days is just wierd! Have found out module and delivery is £67 but would like to be fairly sure it is that before ordering! I will let you know how it goes. Thanks again 😀

Hi again, havent been able to switch power off and look at anything yet as too heavy to move but will do at weekend. Just wondered if you could tell me how much you could get the module for in case any cheaper than £67 inc delivery? The clicking is driving me mad! 👿 Would appreciate ANY more help whatsoever based on what Ive said so far in case its not the module. The more I read on the forum, the more I wonder if it is ! 😕
Thanking you all in advance……….you’re all so helpful……! :worthy:

Hi again
Well in the absence of any further advice I am now awaiting delivery of a new module (£67 inc delivery from Servis parts supplier) However, in the meantime my wonderful (?) Servis fridge freezer has decided to stop the clicking it does when the fan is on and the door is shut (well its there but really quiet now-wierd) The interior light still goes on and off when the door is open and the fan isnt on (?) The red warning light has gone off now but the green on/off light still flashes rythmically at differing speeds. The strangest thing now is that the fridge is exceptionally cold and the freezer is down to -20 so doing what its supposed to with the temp at least. My only worry is that now, the motor seems to be on all the time-maybe this is why its so cold? Isnt it supposed to go on and off? Is it wasting loads of electricity if I was to leave it as it is? And wondered whether anyone could tell me if they still think its the module?! Thanking you for your help again!

Hi again to everyone reading this! 😆
To update, received pcb module, removed old one and put in new one easily 😀 after switching power off :zap: as advised ! And hey presto – no flashing lights or clicks and full power coming from the green LED! The red warning light didnt come on though (as it should do when not right temp) so switched off and did the hairdryer trick on the coils behind the panel in the freezer (thanks Rob) which were all frozen up and so was a small black box-thermostat? Switched on again, red light came on and after several hours its all working fantastic ! 😆 Whooppeeee ! 😆 So thanks to all on this forum-you’ve saved me lots of money!
Hope this might help someone else! Bye!
