ModeratorIt appears from this Gloucester based news feed that DAD are to enter administration. It’s been on the cards for a little while from what I have heard.

KeymasterSad.
I put some of it into a news article here for speed but I suspect more info will seep out over the coming days.
What will happen to Montpellier and Iceking though, who knows or if service etc will get paid for. 🙁

ModeratorIf it does happen I guess the administrators will sell both off to cover some debt. The debt could be with those two brands as I know they are separate companies under the DAD umbrella.
Who knows?

ParticipantThere are significant errors in the Punchline report. The Company Domestic Appliance Distributors has been dormant for the last few years, and is fully up to date with dormant company accounts. The company trading as Domestic Appliance Distributors is in fact the parent company John Gillman & Sons (Electrical) Limited, also controlled by Alison Taylor, who is also the ultimate owner of the business.
Accounts are fully up to date, showing assets of £9.3 million at 31 December 2023, after a trading losses of £1.8 million in 2023 and £3.1 million in 2022. The director’s statement in those audited accounts signed at the end of 2024 is pretty bullish about improving profitability in future years

KeymasterI’m hoping to have some more info on this through the week but, Montpellier is totally separate to DAD so there should be no impact at all on that front.

ModeratorI have heard of some engineers who paid by Pro Forma who are still waiting for goods two weeks later.

ParticipantI have been using DAD for years, slowed down since Covid but I always found their price and service to be very good. It will be a shame if they go completely. I know a few of the staff left over the past year or two because of “issues”.

ParticipantI only found out after another supplier left me a voicemail asking if we needed anything because of the recent DAD news – ruthless 😎

ParticipantThey are apparently still trading under the administrators. Presumably they must still be fulfilling orders?

Yes, they are still trading. I had to buy a few bits off them as no one else had stock.
