Re: Domestic Appliance Horror Stories2 ?

There is no facility in place to deliver spare parts via taxi or any other method than the ones being used, so far two different courier networks. The use of a taxi to deliver the part is completely out of the question and is not an option and it is not a service that is offered by anyone at all in this industry, not even for commercial applications.

The reason in this instance being that it would involve a taxi from either Kilmarnock or Birmingham to London and that is simply far to costly to be considered a reasonable or viable option.

As stated, if you wish to pay to have that level of service provided then by all means I’m sure that it would be looked at and probably something could be done but it would probably take some time to organise. It would however involve you picking up the additional costs incurred for the service that you require.

There has been the offer made by the MD of ISE to deliver the part personally to the repairer but, due to holidays and other commitments that cannot be done until next week at best.

Given the fact that we are facing a bank holiday with two working days in hand and the fragility of the spares it would be unwise for anyone to offer any 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} guarantee that the machine would be repaired in that short timescale and it would be foolish of ISE or anyone else to do so given the constraints.

Re: Domestic Appliance Horror Stories2 ?

I was seriously looking at buying a ISE10 machine, but OMG I cannot afford for any repairs that I may need to go through a saga like this, not less because I’m deaf & can’t use a phone to call ppl all the time or even phone at all period..to try & effect a repair. How would you possibly run a household with kids for TWO months with no washing machine?

Now I have seriously cold feet on buying ISE which is a shame because they look properly built for the most part, although a catalogue of faults like this does need some consideration, simply stating “overuse” is not to my mind a credible excuse for the machine to fail, it’s a washing machine & it’s purpose is well to wash clothes. The customer in question has a pretty average family, so is ISE saying that ISE is only good for grannies doing 1 wash a week? If so I would rather buy a cheaper machine with a 3 yr guarantee & proper support & replace it with a shiny new one overy 3-4 yrs. This would cost about the same as one ISE10 machine over 9 yrs.

Another point is that: if the concrete block is indeed fragile, then perhaps it needs redesigned & possibly something like rebar (re-inforcing) installed into the blocks. I am no engineer, but if something is causing so many issues, then find a solution within the part design & not with the shipping company. a “commercial” quality machine needs commercial quality parts, in my book that means overengineering.

The ISE 10 is made in Sweden and is of commercial grade so you will not get any ‘concrete block’ issues,in fact it’s made of cast iron, buy one you won’t be disappointed.

The OP in this thread does not possess an ISE 10. 😉
