ModeratorWe have to state a few objectives of what we are hoping to achieve at domotehnica.
Are we going there as a buyer, a manufacturer, a service provider organisation, a training provider, a trade communuications system.
as a buyer, have we got the infastructure or buget to deal in the quantities that these guys will be interested in ?as a manufacturer ? is one machine enough to launch with, especially as it looks like it will either be a dirivative of a beko or fagor and the launch date is being pushed back it is now looking like it wont happen at sibson plus either beko and fagor might be there themselves.
as a service provider, because, are we really sure ACH will be ready in time as we dont even have a proven beta version yet.
a training provider ? we still have to prove the package there too
a web based trade communiction system ? well at least we know for sure that works and with the attention it gets it should be easy to promote for advertising space.
I am not trying to pour scorn or disillusion over what we are doing but we dont want to look like dickheads to the trade, especially at the euro show.
We are moving at the speed of light at the moment on all projects.Dont get me wrong it’s important that we go and meet the movers and shakers and press the flesh so to speak. To help guage what oppurtunities
that there might be.We will be able to talk directly to manufacturers instead of importers if you get my drift. Yes we can test the brand with CDA but there could be better deals to be had.
I need to know all your thoughts so I know what to ask for and arrange for domo.

I think qwe should relax at Domo and go without trying to be anything at all.
We should use the exercise to promote ourselves along with the potential to meet in the future prospective clients we meet at domo.
Remember that many of them wonΒ΄t instantley require a route into the UK but we might be able to be the catalist that gets some of them thinking.
So, no stand but work on our own portfolio that we can take with us and also allows us to sing the same song even we we are seperated between manufacturers stands etc.

KeymasterWe may well get a stand anyway Kev, courtesy of P&G… oh and the budget for it as well which if priced correctly, which I’ll leave you to sort, it may even pay a proportion of our costs as well.

I have been mulling this lot over in my mind and I am just starting to wonder if Domo is the place to launch ourselves for several reasons.
Domotechnica is all about selling product to the larger retailers. Many of the manufacterers have their sales teams geared up to push as much product as possible to win market share. So therefore, it is their sales
teams that will be there in force not neccessarilly their service divisions. Will their be, to some degree a clash of purpose in that we may simply be seen as an annoyance to people who are mainly there to sell their individual products rather than trying to answer questions that they neither have knowledge of, or interest in.
As we have already discovered Domo is no cheap exercise for anyone and as such we dont want UKW to be viewed as a distraction, so we need to have some sound reasons and stratagies in place before we consider attening in any capacity. Wether it be as a exhibiter or buyer.
I have no doubt that reasons and stratagies abound a plenty but they need stating before we go any further, as there may be more cost effective ways of achieving the same goals.

First off, we’re not launching there at all, we’re only strutting out stuff as it were.
There is, without a doubt in my mind, every reason on this green Earth for us to be at Domo and KBIS!
Why?
Simple, we have more hits per week than Hotpoint or Hoover’s sites. In terms of sales that means we can attack the very people we want to for advertising revenues, or at the very least, have the opportunity to “press the flesh” and make contacts within that arena, something that we currently lack is contacts there.
If we want advertising revenues, this is exactly where we should be.
Next…
ACH, Domo is the ideal vehicle with which to promote it and, very possibly, to the very people that will want it. If some of them see the likes of GDHA using Repairs@ or signed up for ACH use do you really think it’ll take much to sell it?
It’s politics and marketing, I’m good at that so leave me to get on with it, especially if I can get some other daft fooker, like P&G, to pay for it. π

If we can swing it and get the sponsorship (or whatever you want to call it) we do need to be at Domo IMO.
See what Ken can pull off π
