Hi,

It was a subject that was suggested a long time ago and was rejected for various reasons.
It’s just that I feel it may be another revenue stream to allow us to speed up the delivery of the many excellent idea’s and services that we want to provide to the members.

I.E. full banner adverts on Yell.com/ ACH/ Front End eye candy for the site /national meeting costs/ plus a little something for the moderators for all the help they give the site

It is still my belief that most people are reasonable and that of the many people who receive help from the public forums a good few would be more than willing to donate something to the site if they have just received help that has saved them the cost of a call out.

We can all see that we are getting approx 15,000 page views a day and if only an average of 20 of those seeking help were to send in a fiver a piece per day as a voluntary donation, well I’ll let you do the maths.

We could perhaps use the Nochex system to receive the donations and use that money to help developed the site and the many benefits and services for the troops.

I do stress that it should be completely voluntary but i also feel that it should be pointed out that the more generous people are the more we can add to the site to help them.

I know the subject has been visited before but it still makes a great deal of sense to me and is a potential income earner that may be desperately required if some of our sponsors walk away.

Just give me a few minutes to go and find my flack jacket and tin hat before you reply.

Sod the donations, they don’t work unless you’re a charity.

And, sod the donations, I got a cheque this morning from Qualtex for £1175.
