Modern fridge freezers can fail to work properly in a cold environment like a garage (when it’s very cold). Firstly the insulation on them isn’t as thick as in the past so the cold gets through. You’d think this would help because fridges want to be cold but – some of them have a single thermostat that operates the freezer as well as the fridge and is mounted in the fridge part. Therefore, if it’s very cold in the garage, the fridge wont come on and the freezer wont either!
