ParticipantJust been to do a beko door boot replacement and had real problems with the inner boot spring infact i had to get the customer to help and even then it was a sod. upto a few years ago i had a bloke with me so it was ok dealing with these, but now i’m on my own i need a way to fit them. i usually place the machine on it’s back and if needs be remove the door the problem is i have big hands and can’t always do it on my own, So my question (finally) is there a tool for this? maybe someone has made a tool to do this?

I put washing up liquid on the fingers of both hands.
I start at the bottom putting 3 fingers of each hand on inside of spring leaving thumbs & index fingers to work the spring on as I move both hands around the door gasket, works first time for me every time on any of those machines with inner springs, A.E.G, Zan’, Beko etcMarch 26, 2009 at 1:12 pm #281337leavemetogetonwithit

Have tried it that way Seamy and it works most of the time, i’m after a something that will help do the job in a few minutes instead of the customer 2hours and gave up attempt, thanks for that link Mike some good ideas there. 😀

The front of a Beko comes off in 2 mins and makes it a quick job, perhaps 10 minutes max. Door lock and screws behind kick plate and the Sqeezy (showing my age) certainly helps.

Did a BEKO one this afternoon, front panel off, easy peasy.
I did have to do an AEG/Zanussi last week. Customers husband, father in law, next door neighbour etc had all had a go. After making many attempts over several days they gave it up and phoned me.
Thankfully they didn’t want to stand over me and watch, getting the seal on was harder than putting the spring back on, a couple of cardboard wedges and the screwdriver through the doorlock hole did the trick.

I use two bits of wedge shaped wood and tap these between spring and concrete at 12 o’clock and 9 o’clock position then feed spring round.

silverbroomI assume you mean for Zanussi machines. Why anyone would try and fit a Beko without first taking the front off is beyond me, even the ones with the concrete weight round the front should be done that way, only a few minutes longer to take the weight off. :rolls: 🙂

Yep sorry iadom, I do mean the Zanussi machines, I to remove the front on Beko also on Bosch but still use the wedges due to a bit of arthritis in my fingers.
