Hi My elderly mother has a Zanussi ZWF81463W (PCN 91491130701) washing machine. I need to replace the door interlock but I cannot get it out – advice welcome. I have looked at etc step-by-step guide in this site (https://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/fix-it-yourself/washing-machine-washer-dryer/3281-how-to-replace-a-washing-machine-door-lock) but on my mum’s machine there are no screws. There are 2 little plastic lugs and these can be pushed in but there is a plastic surround around where the door pin goes into the lock and this seems to be connected to the lock mechanism on the inside. I have removed the door seal to get to the inside but I cannot work out how to get the interlock out. Thanks in advance.

push the dimples (lugs) in and the lock slides to the left about 1mm or so

Thank you for the reply – I have tried pushing the dimples in as you suggest but there is plastic around where the door pin (latch?) goes into the body of the machine and this seems to be attached to the inside of the door mechanism. Even though I can push the dimples in the lock doesn’t seem to move. I tried to up load a photo of the plastic surround but I get an error about quite space.

    Thanks again in advance.

as you push the dimples in the lock slides to the left and then you can unhook surround

Dave – I got the lock out and fitted a new one. After reassembly all was well the machine worked as it should, so a great result ! However, it only ran for one complete wash and then it failed again. The fault appears to be the same (error code E42) and there is a clicking sounds as the door tries to release. Is there some other fault that would cause the lock to fail?
    Thanks in advance.

is the door handle mech jamming it in some way ?

E42 can also be caused by an earth fault on the heater
