door seal on zanussi FJDR1466W

Hi,
I am considering replacing the door seal on my Zanussi Jetstream FJDR1466W and was wondering if anyone had any advice before I start.
Can the front panel be removed for easy access? Do I need to glue the new seal in place? Will I need any special tools for the job?

nope. all you need is good strong fingers, a lot of patience , and plenty of time if youve never done one before!

the front panel isnt removable.. you dont even need any tools!

the seal will just pull off, to refit the seal, you need to lip the inner edge of the seal on the outer plastic drum, then stretch the spring round to keep it in place, again, the front bit of the seal lips onto the cabinet, and the white band just clips together around the outside of the seal
some people like to place the seal in boiling water before they fit it, to make it a little more supople.. i dont, it doesnt work for me, makes it a little slippy for me

not a particularly difficult job – i can do it in less than 15 minutes, but then, ive fitted quite a few

Why do you want to change the seal? Is it leaking? I ask because this is not a job for the feint hearted so should not be tackled unless you really have to. If you do have a go, please let us know how you get on.
