door seals heating up

    Hello All just joined the forum and need some advice,,i have a Whirlpool American style fridge freezer the door seals are heating up ,,is this normal or do I need to contact a service engineer

    It’s normal.

    There is an anti-condensate line there to prevent condensation where the seals meet the cabinet and that will often get warmer in summer.

    K thanks for your speedy reply,you say the seals heat up in the summer but its winter here is this still normal ?

    Yes, you’ll always have some heat there.

    Extra heat around the door frame, could indicate the condenser coil needs cleaning, it can be found generally at the rear of the unit by the compressor, if it has not been cleaned for a while the fluff builds up and then the fan cannot cool the condenser down enough and excess heat will occur around the door frame.
