I currently have a built in gas double oven which is on its last legs. I’m refitting the kitchen and would prefer to go for an electric oven.
The problem is that there is no dedicated cooker circuit and rough estimates I’ve had to fit one are around £300-400.
Does anyone know of an electric double oven with a max connected load of less than 3kW that could be connected to the ring main?
If not I’ll probably go with gas again.

    Thanks for your help

    Hi Alex,

Most fan elements alone will draw over 2kW, many if not most 2.2-2.7kW so, if you think that there’s another oven, a fan and clock etc. all to run I’d say that the answer was no. If you did get one that met the criteria it would heat intolerably slowly I would think.

I see single ovens etc. on 13A plugs all the time, I despise seeing it and I do strongly recommend against it. But house builders and kitchen fitters will always do it as cheap as possible it seems and seldom, if ever, think of potential future requirements.

    Hi Alex

We deal with most of the branded names and I must admit I don`t know of any that would I`m afraid 😥 .

Unless one of these would do :rotl:

Thanks for the advice. I did think it would be unlikely to find one. Looks like a gas oven for me.
