    Hi All,
I’ve been posting a few queries about my new kitchen build and have had some great advice. My next decision concerns the extractor system in the kitchen. My architect wants to install a downdraft extractor in the island unit. While I like the idea I don’t know much about them. Doea anyone have any experience of these, or have a particular model they would recommend? Many thanks again.

    Hi

I have seen several of these and worked on a few but the best I’ve seen by far is the PANDO unit supplied by the light works in Doncaster I believe.

Downdrafts take up nearly all the cupboard underneath and ducting the unit outside can cause issues, especially when in an island. I have sold the dedietrich and i sell the elica models, all pretty much the same really, for budget have a look at caple.

    Thanks Guys,
There is an Elica guy who has started to sell locally – I live in Northern Ireland. I’ve also emailled about the Pando unit. Is Elica a respected brand? Certainly heard of de Dietrich – used to have one of their dishwashers but never heard of either Elica or Pando. Thanks again.

Elica is a decent brand, feature quite a lot on grand designs etc.

Sorry guys meant to ask – what are the Caple ones like. They seem a bit cheaper but are they reliable and good extractors. Thanks again.
