Is Dr Beckmann washing machine cleaner any good or any that are available from supermarkets? I see Affresh is mentioned but does it work better than the products you buy in the shops?

So far as I am aware, most other than Affresh and a couple of others tend to target limescale and not bacterial build up. The one I think you mean though does claim to be doing that, sort of at least.

Affresh (or Power Fresh in EU guise) is the most effective we’ve tried thus far but I haven’t tried this one as yet.

To be honest though, if people did a semi-regular maintenance wash or even washed stuff correctly, they’d not need to buy any of them or, probably not. 😉

Doing that with a decent machine with an enamelled or stainless outer tank, almost certainly no requirement of that and a far lower requirement for maintenance washes as well.

Just saying as it’s only right to be honest about it. But, if people want to buy cleaners, who am I to argue.

Thanks for the reply. As far as I am aware there are no stainless steel tubs in stores unles Miele make them that way. I know I am one of very few people who launders properly andvreads instructions.
