ParticipantHi,
My Bosch Washer dryer (WVH28420GB Logixx 7) has developed a fault. As soon as I select any program, the drain pump starts – and never stops. If I push the start button, the selected program will start, but with the drain pump continuing to run.
There’s sometimes another noise from the control unit at the back. Perhaps a relay, furiously clicking, but not always.
Any suggestions for testing or diagnosis would be gratefully received.

Moderatorwell the first thing with a fault like this is to trace the pump up to the control module and test the switch that turns it on. Normally a triac on the board

Participantok thanks. I’ve found that and it looks like a relay. 899-1C-F-C 9V. And has no resistance on the coil. I can’t find one for sale anywhere, is there any hope?

Only in stock at 12V and ‘normally open’. I can swap it with another on the board.I’ll have a think about it. My wife’s already hinting that I should go to the launderette.

Moderatorthese relays are fairly univeral

as long as size and coil is ok you will be fine. they are 10A but the pump is pulling less than an amp
the only thing that worries me here is the pump is running, which means the contacts have to be welded. Seems odd to have no coil as well

ParticipantCould be a melted solenoid water inlet valve coil.
