drainage pump won’t shut off.

I have a zanussi fl 1234 washing machine that has a dranage pump and program knob fault.

Everytime you set the washer to do a cycle or rinse the dranage pump is allways running. If you press the rinse hold button the pump stops but will run again if you depress the button. I have also notice that when the program knob reaches the stop mark the pump is still running and the program knob will still keep turning and start the next program. It is second hand and I didn’t see it working when I brought it. I have not add water to the washer I just set the machine on spin mode to see if it will spin and the motor and berrangs where ok before add water.

I guess you transported it on its side did you?

The washer was transpoted upright in a van and hasen’t been on it sides.
