ModeratorDoes anyone know what size the torx bolts that hold the drum together are, T30 or smaller?

Damn, still I’m glad I asked, my T25 is knackered so I will have to arm myself with one for the first, in the field, drum front change next week. 😉

Hi Jim
I gather that you have sold a lot of ISE machines. (How many?) I have only sold 13 so far and have not had any call backs yet. However it is useful to be aware of problems other people are having and I was curious as to why you had to to do a drum front change?March 1, 2007 at 7:25 pm #205910iadom

ISE No: 65 went in yesterday. 8)
Lets just say the drum front replacement is in no way due to component failure resulting from a manufacturing defect 😉

Went to fit this drum front this morning, took around 90 minutes allowing for the fact that this was my first time, 😳 I didn’t rush things. All quite straightforward. I did replace the suspension pins back in the opposite direction, in the same way as the WMA pins, pushed back in from front to back, there is far more room to access these from the front.
I swapped the door seal from one front to the other before I fitted the two halves together, I must say that I am looking forward to replacing my first door seal ‘in situ’ with some trepidation. The seal is not very pliable and the inner lip was quite hard to push over the edge of the drum front, due to the 6kg load reducing the gap between inner and outer drum I can see this being a very awkward job indeed.
PS. Make sure you only put the top left hand screw back in the soap dispenser before you refit the console. 😉
All round very easy, have to say though that the drum does feel much thinner than a WMA drum.

Hi Jim,
Congratulations on being the first tub front changer out in the field. Glad it was reasonably straight forward. With regards the door seal we held our hands up right in the beginning on this one and recommended removing the front panel and front counterweight to make the job easier.
We know this is a bit of a bind but in all fairness these can be removed in about five minutes to give easiest access. One word of caution though is to remove and stack the front counterweight carefully whilst doing the job as the counterweights don’t bounce, ask Ken :rolls:

I remember seeing the result of the non bouncing counterweight, I would intend to remove that in any event, however the seal will still be quite difficult to fold round ‘inside’ the lip of the drum, I did a Beko WMA seal a few weeks ago and the gap seemed a little wider between inner & outer drum.
Its just that I like to keep my nails in good order. 😀
PS. Is there a prize for being the virgin drum front changer. 😉
