In my previous threads (http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/forumsphpbb3/how-change-brushes-bosch-logixx-t77954.html and http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/forumsphpbb3/noisy-motor-bosch-t82879.html) I have had problems with my motor.

What I think happens is the motor becomes laboured and hot and when spinning I can sometimes hear light electrical fizzes and pops from the motor – almost like after you pour a fizzy drink into a glass, except with gentle popping sounds sometimes. Eventually the fizzing will stop and you can sometimes hear the popping. Recently it has also sounded notchy.

Anyway, after a wash and spin the washer gave up after the first rinse and longer turns in either direction. I did notice that even though the load seemed balanced within the normal tolerances it still didn’t spin. It kept trying to balance the load even when the drum wasn’t even out of balance.

Is this likely to be brushes? Why am going through brushes so quickly? Is the commutator faulty?

Yes the brushes again but ultimately the commutator is beyond all hope and you either replace the complete motor or scrap the machine. (Or take a gamble on buying a S/H motor on eBay 😯 )
