The drum is not turning on my Servis M6614W washine machine. either on spin or rinse.

    The filter is clear
    The belt is fine
    I’ve installed new brushes
The pipe out the bottom of the drum with the ball in it is cleaned

There is a pair of earth wires (yellow/green) which join at a spade connector that is not connected to anything else, it is just dangling near the motor. Should this be connected to something? If so what?

Other than that I am tempted to think it is the module, but what else should I check before spending money on a new module?

    Any advice welcome.
    Regards
    Graham

Continuity test through motor (There are three separate circuits) first of all. PCB is notoriously unreliable, although burnt connector pads are pretty obvious and can be repaired if you can use a soldering iron.

Stay safe – power off first.

I checked continuity between the connectors on the two brushes, that was fine.

What are the other two circuits through the motor and where do I put the tester probes?

At the motor socket there will be one pair of tags for the armature, one pair of tags for the tacho coil and three for the field coil (spilt field to give the high spin). Field coil and armature should read a few ohms, tacho will probably give a reading in low kOhms.

The motors are generally fairly reliable – I’d be far more inclined to look at the PCB.
