No,i’m putting them in the freezer to see if that works,Chris i do understand that they slide in but you can’t get enough force from the rear of the drum to force them forward.

i gently opened the plastic lugs, then pushed them on,making sure that the securing tab was in correct place (about 2mm up)

Just to come back to this one, may have to remove a drum lifter on a Vestel ISE5-2 tomorrow, how easy are they to take out and will they refit?

I ended up opening the tabs a little to get them to slide on.

As to your first question,the paddles were already off/damaged.

Not actually seen one off and didn’t bother risking it this morning.

I wanted to see if there was a suitable hole underneath to check on any foreign bodies that might be in the drum.
