Hiya

My Beko stopped washing properly a few months ago.

The filters are clean, the spray arms are not blocked and I use a dishwasher cleaner from time to time to keep the machine clean.

I’ve check the water pressure and taken all filters and pipes out of the body of hte machine trying to find a blockage.

NO LUCK!

Everytime I start the machine no matter which programme, it starts with really loud groaning and moaning sounds which last about 10 minutes. The machine does not look like it is filling up with water as much as it did in the past and I’ve even taken to topping it up with a couple of kettle loads of water at the beginning of the programme.

The items on the bottom were washing well but the ones on top looked like they weren’t touched. Now the ones at the bottom are suffering too.

All lights etc are working, timer is counting down, spray arms arms are turning – but not at vigoursly as before.

I haven’t opened up the front panel or door to look at athe components but wonder from what I’ve read if circulation pump is blocked, faulty or if flow component that ‘counts’ the amount of water going in machine is faulty.

I would be grateful for your help. I don’t know whether it is worth fixing or should I just get a new machine.

Hi it sounds like a motor capacitor problem as, at a guess, it sounds as if the main recirculation motor isn’t running as it should giving a weak spray.

A capacitor isn’t expensive.

Thank Kwatt, I really appreciate your response. :tup: I’ll try and search for some instructions about how to get to and change the capacitor. :rtm:

Do I have to worry about the capacitor holding a charge even once I’ve pulled the plug?

I got a shock once when I opened up a tumble drier and one shock per lifetime is plenty!! :boops:

Yes, they can hold a charge.

The cap is usually mounted on the motor.
