    Hi,
I am not able to get my Whirlpool DWF 405 to wash. After filling up with water it stops, flashing 6 times.
I have been reading other threads, and as suggested tried to rinse the black grid and pressure switch. That didn’t work. The I discovered that the tray under the dishwasher was holding water, so I dried that up and discovered upon test that the pressure switch was leaking drops of water. Then I drained the machine, removed the switch, cleaned it and applied a bit of oil on the gasket. That stopped the leak, but it still does not work, stops at the same place with 6 flashes. Could the switch itself be broken due to the leak?

    Any help would be appreciated!

A qick follow up. After trying more today with the same results (7 flashes, guess I was hoping for a miracle) it actually had started to drip again from the preassure switch. It looked to me that the water passed through it as it was dripping from the power socket of the switch, is that even possible? or is it more likely that the gasket is not 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} tight?

It sounds more like the diaphragm in the holder has gone. Was the switch actually working? You’re going to need THIS as a starter. Secondly, you need to check the function of the flow meter in the water matrix under the left hand side panel. This suffers from a poor connection where the wiring joins the pcb. The reed switch on the pcb can also fail, so the computer fails to receive the pulses and therefore thinks it’s not filling.
