    Hi, 🙂

I have an DWF 406 dishwasher, bought from IKEA 5 years ago. A few days ago it dropped dead. It suddenly went quiet so I checked it. It was swithed off. No lights, nothing! It had started the cycle and opened the door to the dishwasherpowder.

I thought it was a fuse gone off so I checked that, no problem. Then checking that there were power in the socket and it was. Conclusion: It really is the dishwasher.

When opening the door there were water in the bottom, so I removed and checked the filter. No problem, so I emptied the dishwasher manually on water and checked and cleaned the filter again. Then I plugged it in again but it doesn´t blink or anything, it´s just dead.

So: There were water in it, it had opened the powderhatch and is completely dead.

Would highly appreciate your help on this. I´ve read some in Forum here: float, pcb etc., but where do you recommend I start? Could I remove and clean any vitals? Is this a known failure? Is there a simple fuse in the dishwasher that I could check? I noticed that there´s som kind of box on the tube, anything in there I could check? Of course, power off first 😀

It has worked perfectly until now.

    Best Regards!

1/ Test socket – plug the kettle in and see if it works.
2/ If yes, check the mains suppressor. This is the box unit where the power cable enters the machine. They do fail.

    After that, it gets complicated…….
