I inherited an IKEA Whirlpool DWF 417 dishwasher when I moved into my flat and have no manual that tells me what the icons mean or how to troubleshoot. It’s worked fine for a year, but has suddenly ceased all activity.
When I switch it on the first and last icons (shower and sun shapes respectively) are permanently lit red. The fifth icon (pot) is flashing continuously. Without manual, I have no idea what this is telling me. I have fed the machine both salt and rinse aid, so apparently that is not the problem.
The serial number on the right hand side is 8545 856 15600.
Any ideas

You describing the E9 fault – machine has failed to detect the water level correctly. I’m afraid the user book won’t help you solve tis one.
The water level switch may not be working, the computer board may not be detecting and reading the signal properly. The last one of these I attended had a blown mains suppressor, causing a corruption issue. Replacement cured it.
It is a technically complex machine – I would seriously suggest getting pro help in fixing it. Click the link below.
