    Hi,

    I have a Whirlpool DWF417 (from Ikea) – it’s the SMEG version of this one. When I start any program, it seems to fill for a while and drains. But the actual insides where the dishes are never seems to get wet, and after a while it beeps, and the 1st light flashes and the 5th light holds steady. It keeps on making noise for a while, and eventaully stops.

    What can I do to get it working again? I hate doing the washing up by hand!

    Flood protection activated – the base tray under the machine probably has water in it. Drain it off and it should re-set – if it does it again, find the leak.

    I’ve drained the tray, but can’t see where the leak is coming from. It happens during the ill cycle, and now I get 1st and 3rd lights flashing and 5th steady. What does that mean?
