    To all techies out there…

I have an Ikea Whirlpool DWF416 and as you have probably assumed it is broken 🙂

I have read all the threads I came across to try to fix it but I am stuck and need help.

When I turn on my dishwasher it starts ok, and after a few seconds it starts taking in water and it all seems fine. But then it stops working and starts beeping constantly and flashing 7 times pause, 7 times… – you get the point.

As per previous posts where it explains what the 7 flashes mean, I checked the water inlet, and that one is ok – it takes in water. I unscrewed the let panel and checked the flow meter and I can see the water starts flowing.

I also took out the reed switch and tested it with ohm meter and it is also ok.

I have run out of options… Any ideas?

Your help will be much appreciated…

    Re: DWF416

you should check the reed switch in position when water is moving the flow impellor, this should rapidly switch the reed switch on and off. when you tested the reed switch did you pass a magnet past it to see if it was actually switching. theres a magnet on that impellor!. thats how the pcb knows theres movement. if all ok check connections and no breaks in those two slim wires back to the pcb.

    Hi bzz67,

I checked the reed switch with an ohm meter and a magnet (I read about it in wikipedia how it works and how to test…) I must admit I did not test it while in position. I’ll do that next.
I’ll test the wires too and post the results.

    Thanks
    H
