DWi612C Dishwasher stuck in pre rinse mode!!!

Hi there, can anyone help with this error. the dishwasher has the 1st LED flashing and makes a bleep afetr 10 seconds. I reset the program by pressing the program select button 4 times and the dishwaser works but only on the prewash mode. Once it has finished the error occurs again. The manual does not explain the error and am a bit stuck.

Machine is clean inside and pumps water in and out ok

Any ideas?

You are carrying out half of the computer reset procedure only. To cancel the programme, you simply hold the button down. To complete the reset procedure, after the four presses you should have the 1st and 5th leds lit. Press the button one more time. Switch off, count to 10 and switch back on. Do not shut the door at any point. Then run the rinse programme.

See what that does………..

This has got it out of rinse mode but now goes through the cycle and all 5 lights flash. Turn off and on again and back to rinse mode. Driving me mad. Am I doing something wrong or is it an engineer job?
