    Swtitched machine on as usual and it tripped out the main circuit breaker – cannot turn machine on as a result; plug fuse ok – any idea what it may be?

    Hotpoint, I take it? Or rather an Indesit in a frock…….

    Mains suppressor, flooded base with pump sitting in the water, blown electronics or just sheer badness are all possible.

    Power off, if investigating.
