ParticipantHi All,
I have a Hoover DYN9164DPG/L1-80 which is under 2yrs old, had little use and is showing error code E15.
The code shows immediately on power on (after initial relay click)
I have checked the the inlet and outlet pipes for obstructions, cleaned filter/trap and checked the pump impeller is spinning freely.
Looking inside the housing, all wires and plugs appear to be seated correctly and the machine appears in very clean condition.
I believe this may be a module problem but it seems that there are two involved. The pcb showing the LED display and also the large main module at the base of the machine.
One thing I have noticed is the LED displaying E15 also appears to have other LED’s dimly lit especially around the spin speed display. It is hard to see in daylight but more noticeable at night. I have attached some pictures to try and highlight this.
I have a good electrical understanding ( i micro solder and repair Iphone logic boards) and know how to use a multimeter to perform testing.
I would be grateful if anybody could give me some pointers in which way I should head in diagnosing where the fault lies or even if it is related to the top LED module or main board.
Thanks for your time.
Mark

Unfortunately this is a main pcb fault without the programmer Hoover use you can’t even try to reprogram the pcb

Hi and thanks for taking the time to reply.
Just to clarify then, even if I could obtain the necessary file, there would be no way to re flash the data without the necessary programmer. Is there a specific reason for this failure or is it just poor design (either intentionally or unintentionally)? I have always viewed extended warranties a waste of money, but if this could be a reoccurring problem then maybe I may have to rethink things.
Thanks again.May 31, 2017 at 6:09 am #447784kaibart

As this I a electronic component it can fail at any time on any machine, reprogramming isn’t a option for you as you would need to contacted Hoover for this see how much the programmer part is in the online shop
