Dyson DC02 dumps on top of filter

DC02 (an old grey and yellow one!) is picking up and dumping the detrtitis straight on top of the pre-filter.

I’ve stripped the cyclone unit down and cleared it out – it was 95{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} blocked, but it is still dumping on top of the pre-filter.

It sucks in, you can see the stuff swirling around the chamber, then off it goes up the funnel!

Never dealt with one of these before – what could be causing this, please?

Cone and/or cone seal missing or poorly positioned.

Thanks, Happycak, I can see what’s happened, now.

The diabolo shaped bit at the bottom of the dust collection bin is missing – she must have banged it out into the bin at some point.

I’ve just spoken to her on the phone and she confirmed she’s in the habit of clouting it on the rim of her wheelie bin every time she empties it, so it must have gone to landfill at some point.

Problem solved 🙂
