    Hi Folks,
Wondered if anyone could give me some advice or repair instructions on a Dyson DC04, the mrs has one of these (honestly, I never knew!) and she claims it won’t pick up anymore, had a quick look and the roller is working ok and one of the cats ain’t stuck in it either, seems to have lost suction, she seems to think it needs cleaning and servicing, all of which is way beyond me.
Please help me before she puts it all in the dishwasher 😆
    Regards
    Steve

anything that unclips take off and check for obstructions.
    check belt tension.
    clean top and bottom filter.
also if still no suction unscrew bin assembly and clean out the root/cyclone ports. Be careful not to damage bin opening mechanism!

    some helpful pictures as well

it is more than likely to be the pre filter if you remove this and take out the blue sponge then hold the yellow holder up to the light you should be able see through it if not then clean until you can or if really bad replace it

A Big THANKYOU! to everyone, 😀
It was the prefilter, cleaned it all out and its lifting the carpet up now.
It was disguisting, i’d rather have a paper baggged cleaner any day.
Next time i’ll take it to my local independant retailer 😆
    Kind regards
    Steve
