According to our own front page, the Dyson washer is no more, couldnt sell them, surprise.
I know we all disliked Dysons service and spares policy but at least he tried to raise the retail price somwhat which has now backfired.

    He did it wrongly IMO.

Whole thing was a bit cock-eyed in retrospect. Factory service for £58 inc parts was good, but for a grand, shouldn’t it have been reliable in the first place? For that money I’d have bought Miele and called them out if 5-7 years time.

They were vastly overpriced. Very good, my wife loves ours – but the high price was for the technology and revolutionary design rather than build quality which was decent but no £1000’s worth. I think some of the design was very good, particularly the door seal. Also the quickest wash times I’ve come across.

Speaking to our local Dyson Engineer yesterday he is pretty sure Dyson are going to relaunch a washing machine later on in the year.
Might not be a bad thing if it pushes up the public perception of how much a washing machine should cost.

He didn`t know any details of it but interesting all the same.

I have always been of the opinion that Dyson are a very good marketing company that just happened to sell vacs and washers. 😉

In my experience dead things are often best left that way. 😉

The problem was a funky design in a not-so-funky marketplace and you can’t normally hide a washer in a cupboard as you can a pug-ugly vac. Even if you did that, then what was the point of buying the funky design in the first place?

spot on maltheviking marketing is exactly what they are! the only benifit to us was the attempt to raise the price. but thats getting hammered as you can now find machines for sale retail for the same as best price trade. if he does put out a washer will it be a badged? the dyson name could easly carry on a import machine. another foot hold for the chinese?

Maybe it’ll be a clear one and you can watch all the dirt twirl around and around. Seems to be one way to excite the public. 😕

What the hell one more will not make much a difference , we have managed to sell off the rest of British industry to foreign companies, thats why they call us “Treasure island” Personly, if I was in government, I would not allow foreign companies to trade under well established UK/British trade names, not unlesss everything they manufactured was made here, AND THE PROFITS STAYED HERE.
