ParticipantHi,
First of all thank you very much for this forum. Last night, I put my clothes to wash as normal on “Daily Quick” mode. After a couple of minutes I heard a squeaky sound and noticed the drum wasn’t rotating. I stopped the cycle, powered off the machine and put that back on. Since then the cycle is stuck at 34 min remaining and play button is flashing. I have checked the water supply- pressure is available. Tried resetting the washing machine and got an error code E10. Since, then I have tried maximum advices on the internet, cleaned the filter and a coin came out but still the E10 error hasn’t gone. I have now removed the upper cover to check if any cable or pipe connection is loose but that doesn’t seem to be the case. I have now two things left to do: (1) check the motor for worn out carbon brushes (2) replace the door interlock –> but I need to be sure how to do these actions and also if they are really necessary?
I am not sure what E10 refers to – there are many different definitions of it? Can you please help me guide to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.
Many thanks

Thank you very much Dave. Mechanicalluy, the machine door is locking and unlocking completely fine. However, it could be some other issue with the interlock system. Would you reckon that i buy one of these and replace (pls kindly check the part number for me, i have never done and diy on washing machines before):
Kind Regards

yes. When i Switch the machine on, set the dial to daily quick wash the timer goes from 00 to 34 min, the play symbols flashes and the door locks. When i power the machine off, it unlocks.
Would you still recommend changing the door interlock?
kind Regards

ParticipantHi Dave,
Please see my observation:
1.Closed the door
2.turned machine button ON on any programme (did not start programme)
3.The timer showed 00:00
4.after 5 sec it showed 00:34 and the door locked
5.I waited for few seconds and the door did not unlock. I pressed the power button OFF (not switched off from main socket).
6.After 55-57 sec the door unlocked.I repeated step 1-4 but instead of pressing the power button OFF I left the machine ON for 2 min and the door unlocked with the display saying “END”
After this the dial was showing correct settings for every programme mode (all seemed normal). I thought maybe the machine is up and running again. I selected Quick daily wash programme and pressed start. The door locked and nothing happened. The cycle did not run. At some point the door unlocked as well, the display showed pause and a symbol was blinking (picture of symbol attached). I pushed the power button OFF and back ON but now the door is not locking at all and the same symbol is blinking (picture attached) .
Kind Regards,

Could you please help me with any video tutorial on how to check brushes. I am unable to find anything of relevance. Would appreciate!
Thanks

Moderatorpull machine out and tilt back at 45 degrees
look at the back of the motor and as a quick test find the brushes that are in plastic holders screwed to the rear of the motor
tap each brush firmly with a screw driver
level machine and try it
if it works you have just proved you need brushes
if it does not it does not mean you dont it just means you need to remove them to checkDave

ParticipantYou might have to remove the motor to check. So looking from underneath from the front of the machine the holders that contain the carbon brushes are usually green. The right brush near the terminal block is easy to get to the 2 screws that hold it on but the left hand side is at a dreadful angle. The point is with these things is that if the r/h/side one looks as though it is only half worn out that doesn`t mean that the l/h/side one is ok too- this catches nearly everyone out!- as the brushes wear down unequally due presumably to the long spin times in one direction.
Very common this motor brush wearing out on some Beko machines.October 17, 2021 at 8:45 pm #479403andyjawa
ParticipantForgot! If proved to be duff brushes Part number of genuine motor brushes is 371202407 and these are sold as singles not as a pair. A common pattern one comes as pairs part number is QUACAR140. The genuine ones in this case are higher quality in my opinion.
